THRICE – MAJOR/MINOR PRE-RELEASE SHOW AT YOST
We caught up with guys from Thrice on the heels of their Major/Minor album release. Thrice packed the historic Yost Theater in Downtown Santa Ana on Saturday August 13, inviting local favorites Kiev to share the stage.
Tune in as Piper learns their process for making the new record at Red Bull Studio, how this sold out local show came to pass and what’s on the horizon for one of OC’s most prolific bands.
Major/Minor drops September 6, on vinyl and September 20, on CD and Digital. Thirce will be doing a nationwide tour in support of Major/Minor returning home for a trio of shows at Anaheim HOB November 9-11.
Read more from Eddie Breckenridge on playing the show from OC Weekly.
Check out thrice.net for more details on what’s in store from band and to pre-order Major/Minor.
THE YOST THEATER IS READY FOR ITS CLOSEUP
When the 99-year-old Yost Theater in downtown Santa Ana reopens on Aug. 5, it will be both hauntingly familiar and brand-spankin’-new. Anchoring what used to be called Fiesta Marketplace – the Latino shopping plaza on Fourth Street – on the corner of Spurgeon and Third streets, the oldest theater in Orange County was closed to the general public for 25 years, and then open intermittently since 2005.
OC Music Awards welcomes back the new and improved Yost Theater! Congratulations to long time music promoters Dennis Lluy and Dave Leon. Check out a local show during their opening month before it’s too late!
