SHOWCASE SERIES WINNERS

It was a weekend filled with OC Music Awards Showcase Finals and winners. On Friday night the Best Live Acoustic Finals visited the historic Yost Theater in Downtown Santa. Hundreds of local music supporters gathered to cheer on acoustic acts I Hate You Just Kidding, Billy Kernkamp, Stacy Clark, Marc B and Mike Vitale.

The very next night the Best Live Band Finals visited Orange County Performing Arts Center’s Samueli Theater. Close to 700 attendees gathered for another round of diverse performances by BLOK, The Steelwells, The Colourist, Dusty Rhodes and The River Band and 2009 Best Live Band winner The Union Line.

The competition was steep in each category, but it was Billy Kernkamp that remained on stage to accept the title of Best Live Acoustic and Dusty Rhodes and The River Band that gained the Best Live Band title. In addition to the recognition each band received $2,500 vouchers from Fender®*, four day recording sessions at Red Bull Studios**, and coveted performance spots at the Awards event next Saturday March 6 at Grove of Anaheim.

*Fender® will generously be awarding each of the two Showcase Series winners – Best Live Band and Best Live Acoustic – a $2,500.00 voucher redeemable directly from Fender Musical Instruments Corporation for any FMIC product(s) totaling $2,500.00 (MSRP) as part of their support of the 2010 OC Music Awards.

**Opportunity to record for four (4) days at Red Bull Studios shall be awarded to the Best Live Band and Best Live Acoustic in accordance with the terms of Red Bull North America, Inc.’s standard Artist/Studio Guest Contract.
