SONG REVIEW | “CRUTCHES” By Ashley Eliot Since I first heard Halos’ song “Pool Hall” off the Scarecrow EP, I knew their songs after that would be definitely worth a listen. Brea-based rock outfit Halos are back in the studio working hard to record either a full-length album or EP, I guess it’s still up in the air. But what I do know is that they are playing the new music at their shows and one song in particular that is standing out has to be “Crutches.” The song might seem melancholy at first, but after listening to it, there is a dash of inspiration and energy in the lyrics and sound. It will be one of the standout tracks on the future record. Until Halos finish recording, check out their past EPs “Heilum” and “Scarecrow.” And if you want to hear the music real bad, go see them play live. Next show is on March 10 at Chain Reaction with Bird By Bird. Web site: www.myspace.com/halosband |
